THE SHEEP
Eyre White Sheep are a set composite of Merino, Wiltshire Horn, Van Rooy and Dorper.
Currently all ewes lamb every eight months. Any ewe which does not raise a lamb to weaning is culled.
Mature rams follow the use of Teasers for a five week joining.
Classing Eyre White Sheep is based on performance rather than appearance but any ram or ewe has consistently been culled if any wool still remains by late spring which is the SA grass seed season.
Breeding goals include:
· Medium carcase
· Adaptable in hard conditions
· Strong all season fertility with good mothering ability
· Contained with basic 5 wire fencing inc 2 hotwires
